On 29 August 2018 at the Government House in Wellington, Mr. Sisavath INPHACHANH presented the Letter of Credentials to Her Excellency The Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy GNZM, QSO, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Realm of New Zealand, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to New Zealand.

On this occasion, Her Excellency Governor-General expressed her warm welcome and congratulations to Mr. Sisavath INPHACHANH to assume his duty as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic to New Zealand. The Ambassador conveyed to Her Excellency Governor-General warm greetings and best wishes from His Excellency Mr. Bounnhang VORACHITH, President of the Lao PDR, and expressed his high appreciation for the warm welcome and organization of the Credentials presentation ceremony.

Ambassador Sisavath INPHACHANH highly valued fruitful cooperation between the two countries at bilateral and international levels, including inASEAN frameworks. The Ambassador, on behalf of the Government and People of the Lao PDR, expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Government and the People of New Zealand for New Zealand’s continued support and assistance that have contributed to the development of the Lao PDR, and looked forward to the continuation of the support and assistance in the years to come. The Ambassador also expressed sincere thanks to New Zealand for its recent relief assistance for flood victims in the Lao PDR. Her Excellency Governor-General said that New Zealand and the Lao PDR have a history of warm and successful bilateral relations which would be further strengthened in the future. New Zealand places great importance on its relationship with ASEAN and recognises the Lao PDR as a supportive ASEAN partner and long-standing friend.
