In the morning of the 6 September 2016 at the National Convention Center, Vientiane, H.E. Saleumxay KOMMASITH, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR chaired the 14^th ASEAN Political-Security Community Council Meeting (14^th APSC Council) with participation of ASEAN Foreign Ministers, Secretary-General of ASEAN and delegates.

The Meeting discussed the developments of the Sectoral Bodies under the APSC pillar. The Ministers also discussed ways and means to ensure the full and effective implementation of the APSC Blueprint 2025 which was adopted by the ASEAN Leaders at the 27^th ASEAN Summit in November 2015. The APSC Council Meeting appreciated the collective efforts and initiatives carried out by ASEAN Member States as well as ASEAN Sectoral Bodies under the APSC pillar on the implementation of the APSC Blueprint 2025 and encouraged the Sectoral Bodies to intensify their efforts in implementing action lines under their respective purviews and enhancing cross-pillar and cross sectoral coordination mechanisms.

On this occasion, Foreign Minister Saleumxay KOMMASITH informed the Meeting that the Lao PDR has ratified the Protocol to the ASEAN Charter on Dispute Settlement Mechanisms, and handed over Lao PDR’s Instrument of Ratification of the said Protocol to the Secretary-General of ASEAN.
