Excellency,

                I have learned of the recent flooding and landslides triggered by heavy rains in many parts of India that caused serious loss of lives and properties to the Indian people.

            On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and on my own behalf, I would like to extend my sympathy through His Excellency to the Government and the Indian people, particularly to the family members of the victims.

            I am confident that under intensive effort by the government, the Indian people will be able to overcome the impact of this disaster and restore the area affected by this natural calamity to normalcy soon.
