Your Excellency,
We are deeply shocked to learn about the mass shooting in the mosques in Masjid Al Noor and Linwoodin Christchurch on 15 March 2019, which has caused tremendous loss of lives of innocent people and left many wounded.
On behalf of the Lao Government and people, I would like to express our deepest condolences and sympathies to Your Excellency, the Government and people of New Zealand, particularly to the families of the victims in this tragic incident.
The Lao PDR strongly condemns this terror act and stands with international community in the fight against international terrorism in order to maintain peace and stability in the region and the world.
I am confident that under Your Excellency’ leadership, the government and people of New Zealand will be able to overcome such difficulties and soon restore the situation to normalcy.
