Excellency,

          On behalf of the people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and on my own behalf, I would like to express my deepest condolences and sympathy to Your Excellency and the people of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar as well as to the victims affected by heavy monsoon rainfall in July 2018, which has caused severe floods and landslides in many states and regions of the country, especially in Kayin State, Kachin State, Mon State, Bago Region, Ayeyarwady Region and Tanintharyi Region, which caused enormous loss of lives and damage to properties of the Myanmar people.

          I strongly believe that under Your Excellency’s leadership and with the assistance of the international community, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar will be able to overcome this difficulty caused by the natural disaster and to restore the life of the flood victims to normalcy soon.

          I have learned with great sadness of the heavy monsoon rainfall in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in July 2018, which has caused severe floods and landslides in many states and regions of the country, especially in Kayin State, Kachin State, Mon State, Bago Region, Ayeyarwady Region and Tanintharyi Region, which caused enormous loss of lives and damage to properties of the Myanmar people.
