On the auspicious occasion of the 60^th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Republic of Indonesia, on behalf of the government and my own behalf, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations and best wishes to Your Excellency and the Government of Indonesia.

It is my great pleasure to note that over the past 60 years, the long existing friendly ties and good cooperation between the Lao PDR and the Republic of Indonesia have been continuously developed and expanded. Apart from our long existing good bilateral cooperation, our two countries have also supported each other mutual supports both in regional and international frameworks, as well as in further strengthening the cooperation in ASEAN family. The Lao Government and People highly value the sincere and valuable assistance of the Government and People of Indonesia, rendered to the Lao PDR in the past, which has significantly contributed to its socio-economic development and the fulfillment of national goals.

I look forward to working closely with Your Excellency to further enhance the traditionally friendly relations and good cooperation between our two countries for mutual benefits of our two Governments and Peoples as well as for peace, friendship and cooperation for development in the region and the world at large.

The regular exchange of bilateral visits between our two leaders and the success of the 5^th Meeting of the Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation between the Lao PDR and the Republic of Indonesia last month in Jakarta have contributed to further enriching and deepening the traditional bond of friendship and growing good cooperation between Laos and Indonesia.
