President of the Republic of Korea H.E. MOON Jae-in will pay a state visit to Lao PDR from 05-06 September 2019, in response to an invitation by H.E. Bounnhang Vorachit, President of the Lao PDR. The visit aims to further enhance the relationship and cooperation between Lao PDR and Republic of Korea.

The Lao PDR, together with international community, expresses grave concern over the underground nuclear/hydrogen bomb test by the DPRK on 3 September 2017, which is in violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council’s resolutions and may increase further tension in the Korean Peninsula. The Lao PDR calls on all parties concerned to exercise self-restraint and exert common efforts for peace and security in the region and the world. The Lao PDR reiterates its consistent support for peace, stability and denuclearization in the Korean Peninsula and resolving disputes by peaceful means through constructive dialogue.
