The Lao PDR highly valued theefforts of the leadersof the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States of America (USA) in organizing the second Summit between the two Leaders from 27-28 March 2019 in Hanoi, Viet Nam. The Lao PDR also praised the Government and people of Viet Nam for an excellent hosting of the Summit, which has importantly contributed to peace building process in the region and the world, despites any joint agreements were reached at the Summit. The Lao PDR views that this Summit has created more mutual trust and better understanding between the Leaders of the DPRK and the USA, which will become an important foundation for future negotiations on new relations building between the two countries, as well as for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in the future

On the 3^rd Outcome of the Inter-Korean Summit

The Lao PDR welcomes the outcome of the 3^rd Summit between Chairman Kim Jong-un of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and President Moon Jae-in of the Republic of Korea (ROK) during 18-20 September 2018 in Pyongyang. The Lao PDR views that the outcome of this Inter-Korean Summit contributes significantly not only to further promoting the good relations and cooperation between the two Koreas, but it also reaffirms the efforts made by the two Koreas towards maintenance of peace, permanent security and denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The Lao PDR is pleased to note that the situation in Korean Peninsula has been developed in a positive way and hopes that all parties concerned would continue to maintain this good momentum.

The Lao PDR reaffirms its consistent support for denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula by peaceful means, for the benefits of peace, stability and development cooperation on the Korean Peninsula and the world at large.
