The Lao PDR highly valued theefforts of the leadersof the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States of America (USA) in organizing the second Summit between the two Leaders from 27-28 March 2019 in Hanoi, Viet Nam. The Lao PDR also praised the Government and people of Viet Nam for an excellent hosting of the Summit, which has importantly contributed to peace building process in the region and the world, despites any joint agreements were reached at the Summit. The Lao PDR views that this Summit has created more mutual trust and better understanding between the Leaders of the DPRK and the USA, which will become an important foundation for future negotiations on new relations building between the two countries, as well as for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in the future

The Lao PDR firmly hopes that all parties concerned will continue to exert their joint efforts to maintain current positive momentum and create good atmosphere for the dialogue to find constructive solutions for the Korean Peninsula by peaceful means, which will significantly contribute to the maintenance of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in the world.

The Lao PDR reiterated its consistent support for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula by peaceful means, as well as for peace, stability and cooperation on the Korean Peninsula, as well as in the region and the world.
