On 20-21 January 2019, Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith, Foreign Minister of Lao PDR led Lao Delegation to attend the 22nd ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) in Brussels, Belgium.
The meeting reaffirmed the significant role played by ASEAN and the European Union in shaping the political, socio-economic, and security agenda for both regions and globally, and agreed in principle to upgrade ASEAN-EU relations to a Strategic Partnership.
The next AEMM will take place in Singapore in 2019.
