Excellency,

    I am deeply saddened to learn about the tragic tsunami that struck on the South of Sumatra and the West of Java, Indonesia on 22 December 2018, causing loss of lives and extensive damage to properties of Indonesian people.

    On behalf of the Government and people of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, I would like to express my deepest sympathy and condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of the Indonesia, particularly the bereaved families of the deceased victims as well as to those who have been affected by this calamity.
    
    I am confident that under the able leadership of the Government of the Republic of the Indonesia in responding to this disaster, the country will overcome the difficulties and restore the living condition of those affected to normalcy soon.
