ພັກປະຊາຊົນ ປະຕິວັດລາວ ທີ່ມີກຽດສະຫງ່າ ໝັ້ນຍືນ! ຊົມເຊີຍວັນສ້າງຕັ້ງພັກປະຊາຊົນປະຕິວັດລາວ ຄົບຮອບ 65 ປີ ຢ່າງສຸດໃຈ! ຂໍ່ານັບຮັບຕ້ອນວັນຄ້າຍວັນເກີດປະທານ ໄກສອນ ພົມວິຫານ ຄົບຮອບ 100 ປີ; ວັນສະຖາປະນາ ສປປ ລາວ ຄົບຮອບ 45 ປີ; ກອງປະຊຸມໃຫຍ່ ຄັ້ງທີ XI ຂອງພັກປະຊາຊົນ ປະຕິວັດລາວ; ກອງປະຊຸມໃຫຍ່ອົງຄະນະພັກ ຄັ້ງທີ IV ຂອງກະຊວງການຕ່າງປະເທດ ແລະ ວັນການທູດລາວ ຄົບຮອບ 77 ປີ.

Mekong R.Korea

On July 24, 2016, the Lao PDR has the honor to host the Sixth Mekong-ROK Foreign Ministers’ Meeting at the National Convention Center, Vientiane Capital. The Lao Delegation was led by H.E. Mr. Saleumxay KOMMASITH, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, and the Meeting was Co-Chaired by H.E. Mr. Yun Byung-se, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and H.E. Mr. Prak Sokhonn, Senior Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Among the attendees were Foreign Ministers and Delegation of Mekong Countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Viet Nam).

The Meeting highly valued the progress made during the past years, particularly, on the implementation of the Mekong-ROK Plan of Action (2014-2017) and the Co-Chairs’ Statement of the Fifth Mekong-ROK Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in 2015. The Meeting also discussed the future direction of the Mekong-ROK Cooperation in order to further enhance and strengthen the relations among the Mekong Countries and Republic of Korea.

The Meeting endorsed the Co-Chairs’ Statement of the Sixth Mekong-ROK Foreign Ministers’ Meeting as guidance in implementing the cooperation in the year to come. Especially, the Meeting welcomed the endorsement of Seven Projects under the Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund that ROK has contributed to the fund amounting to 1 million USD annually since 2015. The project that were proposed by Laos has also been endorsed one project: “Make Legal Arrangements, Laws, Legislations and Regulations, in Force in the Industry Commerce Area more Electronically Available and Accessible to Public and Poor Districts in Lao PDR” of Ministry of Industry and Commerce, worth about 423,000 USD.

The Mekong-ROK Cooperation covers Three Main Areas of Cooperation namely ASEAN Connectivity, Sustainable Development and People-Oriented Development, which covers 6 priority Sectors: Infrastructure, Information Communication Technology, Green Growth, Water Resource Development, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Human Resource Development.

           The Next Mekong-ROK Foreign Ministers’ Meeting will be held in Republic of Korea in 2017 and will be co-chaired by the Lao PDR and Republic of Korea.
