I have learned with profound sadness over the severe flooding and landslides triggered by Typhoon Vamco last week in Manila, the island of Luzon and other provinces in the Philippines, causing a great loss of life and property to the Filipino people living in those areas.
On behalf of the Lao people and on my own behalf, I would like to convey my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to Your Excellency and the entire Filipino people, especially the families of the victims.
I am confident that under the wise leadership of Your Excellency, the Government and the Filipino people will be able to overcome the impact of this disaster and restore the affected areas to normalcy soon.
