Excellency,

          I have learned with great sadness of a massive landslide at a jade mining site in Hpakant Township, Kachin State, in theNorthern part of Myanmar on 2^nd July 2020, which caused enormous loss of lives of the Myanmar people.

          On behalf of the Government of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and on my own behalf, I would like to express my deepest condolences and sympathy to Your Excellency, the Government and people of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, particularly to the family members of the victims by this tragic disaster.

I am confident that under intensive effort by the Government, the Myanmar people will be able to overcome the impact of this disaster and restore the effected area by this natural calamity to normalcy soon.
